Education and Training
Our training programme is available to ANY medical professional working at equestrian events or with an interest in getting involved in them. The programme is not limited to MEA Members and we would encourage the distribution of these details to any medical professionals (NOT only doctors) who may find the programme of interest.
We run moulage sessions throughout the year at locations across the country.
The aim of the sessions are to:
Enable medical personnel to practice their individual trauma skills Look at trauma in the context of the equestrian environment Explore team dynamics Management of the whole scenario Discussion on enabling team practice at events attended by personnelThere is a minimum of 6 scenarios covering most eventualities in which attendees participate, lead and observe. We cover head, torso and limb injuries and discuss issues around concussion. Please note that each session is limited to 12 attendees.
